Mosaica Education Awarded Six Schools in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi City (June 6, 2006) - Mosaica Education has been awarded management of six Abu Dhabi schools as a result of a very competitive process in which Educational Management Companies were given the chance to participate in the Abu Dhabi School Reform Initiative.
The Request for Proposals, issued by the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) on January 15th was intended to “leverage the experience and expertise of proven education providers to improve the quality of public education in Abu Dhabi.”
In response to the Request, applicants were required to describe, in considerable detail, how they would manage their side of the Public-Private partnership, answering questions about organizational capacity, increasing student achievement, increasing parent and community involvement in public education, strengthening the quality and quantity of Abu Dhabi National instructors and administrators, and preserving and promoting heritage and culture.
On the strength of its application, Mosaica was awarded two clusters of schools: one cluster in Abu Dhabi City and a second cluster in Baniyas, a suburb of Abu Dhabi City. Charles Forsythe, Mosaica Education’s Executive Vice President, was quite pleased at the prospect of working in Abu Dhabi. “Abu Dhabi is a great fit for us,” said Forsythe. “This gives us a chance to bring our strengths in school management and curriculum development and implementation to an effort that emphasizes innovation and expertise. ADEC is very serious about this reform and has done a great job thus far in preparing the Request and setting up the Public-Private partnerships.”
